The American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification course prepares participants to become professional lifeguards. This course will teach students necessary rescue skills, surveillance techniques, CPR & First Aid, and administering an AED. Participants who successfully pass this course will earn an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (valid 2 years). This course will be a blended learning experience that will include classroom sessions, hands-on skills, and online work that must be completed at home. Participants should be prepared to move in and out of the water for skills practice, while also spending extended periods of time in a classroom setting. Participants should bring lunch, water, sunscreen, towel, and a change of comfortable clothing for classroom sessions.
In order to successfully pass this course, participants must demonstrate adequate rescue skills and pass the written exams. Refunds will not be issued for participants who do not pass the course.
