Krav Maga

“Get in shape. Go home safe.” That’s Krav Maga Worldwide’s motto, and it provides a perfect basis for describing this course. Krav Maga is the combat system taught to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), and it’s a street-oriented martial art that’s recently been gaining a lot of traction in the States. This course, which will meet on a weekly basis, will offer a full-body workout through fundamental Krav Maga movements. Participants will learn how to properly use a range of basic strikes (called “combatives” in Krav Maga) such as basic punching and kicking, and they will apply those strikes in drills and exercises with each other. Additionally, participants will get exposure to a range of different beginning and intermediate Krav Maga self-defense techniques. Which exact self-defense techniques are taught will depend on where participant interest lies. If you’re interested in purely fitness, this course will give you that. If you’re interested in purely self-defense, this course will give you that too. Just be careful – you might get hooked!
