Camp Massapoag Sports Camp

Camp Massapoag is a great way for children to have a FUN summer in a supervised learning environment while hanging out with old friends and making new ones. Daily games will include elements of traditional sports as well as age-old playground games. There will also be unique and challenging games designed to be fun and educational!

General Information
  • Immunization-You must provide an up to date full immunization record for each child attending camp. This can be obtained from your child’s doctor. Actual dates are required from your child’s doctor. Records must be dated with one year. Please contact your doctor’s office in advance to give them ample time to prepare the records and for you to have them turned into us prior to the start of camp. Please call early for these, as your child WILL NOT be able to attend camp without this.
  • Campers should wear comfortable clothes, shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers.
  • Plan to bring sun block and a water bottle.
  • Full day campers should bring a bag lunch, which does not require refrigeration or a microwave with them every day.
  • Your child should bring a bathing suit with them for Camp Swim Lesson and Camp Free Swim.
  • We encourage parents to call if your child is going to be absent from camp.
  • Please leave valuables, large sums of money and electronic games/radios at home.
  • If it rains we will move our activities inside at either the Sharon High School or Sharon Community Center. Staff will let campers and parents know when the camper arrives in the morning.
  • Child must be the required age prior to start of camp week.
  • All registrations must be paid in full.

Sign In & Out Policy
  • Children do not have to be signed in. Attendance will be taken at the start of camp.
  • ALL CHILDREN MUST BE SIGNED OUT OF CAMP EACH DAY.
  • The registration form provides space for additional adults who have authorization to pick up your child in addition to parents. If this needs to be changed at any time, a note MUST be sent in indicating the change.
  • In the event that a child is not picked up by 4:15PM, a $10.00 fee will be charged per half hour that your child stays later.
  • You MUST fill out the “Authorization for self-dismissal” form at the start of camp if you want your child to sign themselves out of camp. This form will be kept in the child’s folder and can be used for the entire summer. Please note that if your child is authorized to sign him/herself out of camp, there is no supervision provided
  • for them after 4:00PM.
Camp Swim Lessons & Free Swim
  • Camp swim lessons are only a part of the Sports Camps.
  • Each day, weather permitting, every group will have one half-hour swim lesson at Memorial Beach.
  • Swim lessons will be taught by Water Safety Instructors employed by the Recreation Department.
  • On Mondays, the campers will be water tested to see what ability they have. Then the campers will be broken off into smaller groups for lessons.
  • The campers will be using the bathrooms at Memorial Beach for as their changing area.
  • Camp Free Swim will take place each day during the afternoon, weather permitting.
  • Lessons will last for a half-hour.
  • If a camper chooses not to participate in Camp Swim Lessons earlier in the day, they will not be allowed to take part in Camp Afternoon Free Swim.
Sports Equipment
  • Your child will need a glove for baseball or softball, a lacrosse stick for lacrosse and a racket for tennis.
  • No equipment is needed for basketball, soccer or flag football.
  • It is strongly suggested that campers should wear a mouth piece when playing in any of the camps.
